Big Sky Country by Linda Lael Miller
The prolific Linda Lael Miller kicks off a new Western romance series with Big Sky Country. Set in Parable, Montana, Big Sky Country is the story of Sheriff Slade Barlow and Joslyn Kirk. Despite having grown up on the wrong side of the tracks, Slade’s comfortable with who he is, and where he’s at. The lawman has also just inherited part of Whisper Creek Ranch from his long-absent (but rather rich) father. Joslyn, like Slade, grew up in Parable. Unlike him, she lived in the lap of luxury, and was the golden girl – homecoming queen, rodeo queen, and lots more beside. But when her father is arrested for cheating the town members, Joslyn and her mother flee town. Years later, Joslyn decides to return to the only place she calls home to start anew. She works hard, both to try and make ends meet, as well as to make reparations to the people that her father cheated. As Slade and Joslyn adjust to their new circumstances, they also find themselves irresistibly attracted to one another. Big Sky Country is a great start to a brand new Western romance series from the author of the popular McKettrick series
